2011 Polaris Music Prize Screening Party at The Drake Hotel

Next Monday, 19 September the 2011 Polaris Gala takes place in Toronto where the winner of the 2011 Polaris Prize will be announced and one lucky short-list nominee will walk away with it, along with a comedy-size cardboard cheque for $30,000.

The Polaris ceremony at the historic Masonic Temple hall in Toronto is invite-only, limited to artists and industry insiders… a hush-hush, Stonecutters Club kind of affair. The Polaris party is off limits to mere mortals – ourselves included, my invite must have got lost again… – but the Drake Hotel, HP, and MusiCounts have it covered with a second-annual live screening party at the Drake. Tickets for the screening party are $10 on the night and include complimentary beverages and food, with doors opening at The Drake at 7.15pm and the show begins proper at 8pm. (Capacity is limited, so arrive early!)

Thanks to the kind people at HP and Polaris, we have one pair of tickets to giveaway for the screening party at the Drake. To enter, get on Twitter and tweet to us, @MusicVice, with something relevant and #Polaris hash-tagged, such as: “Hey @MusicVice, get me into the #Polaris screening party! Cheers!”

One winner will be chosen by noon Saturday, 17 September. The winning person will have their name on the screening party guest list, with a +1 for a friend, and will also receive a CD from one of the 2011 short listers, as shown below.
