It was a lovely morning in the 6ix [Toronto] at Rebel [the new Sound Academy], where the Juno Nominee Press Conference took place. The morning/afternoon was filled with lots of Canadian talent, exciting announcements, and many free mimosas [and I mean many].
We had a chance to talk to some pretty cool artists, you can check out all the action here:
Allan Reid (president of the Junos) explained to the crowd how this would be the 3rd Juno Awards taking place in Ottawa, and it will be “the best you’ve ever seen”. The Awards show taking place on April 2nd will feature performances from A Tribe Called Red, Alessia Cara, and Ruth B. Additionally, $1.00 from every ticket purchased will be donated to MusiCounts. The charity is celebrating their 20th anniversary of supporting music education; they have donated $9million worth of instruments to students, supported 350 post secondary graduates, and much more. If you are not attending the Juno’s and would like to support this charity, you can text ‘Music’ to 2222 to donate $20.
