“It’s about the homeless. Nothing more, nothing less”.

That’s the motto of Blank-Fest, an annual benefit concert that first started in New York City in 1997 by Kenn Rowell of The Baghdaddios.

On 19 February, 2010, Blank-Fest comes to Montreal for the 2nd annual installment of the Quebec version of the event. The message is pretty simple – bring a blanket or some other article of warm clothing, and enjoy some free live music in return.

“I’m really proud of this year’s line-up for Blankfest Quebec and I’m looking forward to breaking last year’s record of collecting over 500 blankets and items of clothing for Montreal’s Homeless,” commented Blank-Fest Quebec organiser Jon Asher.

The line-up for Blank-Fest 2010 in Montreal includes The In & Outs who were a riot at Indie Week last year, along with Special Ops, Vinyl Hero and Emery Street.

Blank-Fest Quebec goes down on 19 February, 2010 at Bar St. Laurent 2, 5550 Boulevard Saint-Laurent, Montréal, QC.
