Academy Award-winning artist Common spoke earlier today at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, Jamaica. He was joined at a press conference by Jennifer Hudson and T.I. with all three artists headlining at Sumfest this weekend.

It is Common’s first time in Jamaica. He chatted about that, before moving on to discuss how young reggae and hip hop artists can stand-up for civil rights by grabbing the mic.
“I definitely see that young reggae artists will be speaking out. I feel like young people in general are at that point where they’ve had enough. They are not only speaking out through music, but they are protesting and coming up with new ideas.”- Common
