It was originally planned that Eros would be the follow-up to 2006’s Saturday Night Wrist, but the release of Eros has been postponed indefinitely following bassist Chi Cheng’s car accident in 2008 which left him in a coma. The five-piece from Sacramento, California have recruited their friend and former Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega as a stand-in for Diamond Eyes.

Diamond Eyes was produced and mixed by Nick Raskulinecz (Alice in Chains, Coheed & Cambria, Foo Fighters), and recorded and engineered by Paul “Fig” Figueroa (Alice in Chains, Bad Religion).

Deftones are set to announce tour dates later this year in support of Diamond Eyes.

Confirmed Festival Dates:
24 April 2010 Vive Latino Festival, Mexico City, Mexico
22 May 2010 Rock on The Range Festival, Columbus, OH
12 June 2010 Download Festival, Donington Park, UK
