California’s pioneers of cheesy, nerdy pop-punk Descendents have announced three Australian dates; their first tour of Australia in their 30 year history and first anywhere since 1997.
The band has released the following statement via their website:
We’re pleased to annouce that the Descendents will be playing three shows in Australia this December. This will be the first time that the band has ever played “down under.”

Fri 17 Melbourne Showgrounds
Sat 18 Sydney University Sports Fields
Sun 19 Brisbane Riverstage & the City GardensIn addition to the Descendents, NOFX, Dropkick Murphys, Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, Frenzal Rhomb, Parkway Drive, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and about 10 other
internationals (all punk, metal or hardcore) are confirmed.

Greg – The official word is that due to Milo’s work commitments a three tour is all that could be arranged. It sucks that not all cities could be included, but this is one hell of an excuse for a summer holiday!
Three DATE tour, that is.

Greg this is what happens when u live in the shit places of aus. You miss out on all the good shit. If u wanted it bad enough you wouldn’t whinge and you’d get excited over a holiday and to see some fuckkkin sick bands while your at it.
RANCID is all that is missing from this line up and perhaps u could steal pennywise from soundwave and chuck em in this tour

I truely hope the descendents tour the US. ALL cancelled their east coast tour in january 2010 due to illness. I purchased ticket #1 & #2 for the show at the middle east in MA. i felt like the kid who did not get the red rider BB gun when i learned of the cancelled tour. descendents please…. tour the US!
