Today, dance music DJ Carl Cox helped to release a turtle back into the wild.

Coxy the turtle was found near the island of Conejera in San Antonio, Ibiza. The turtle got caught among some plastic net ropes tied to three plastic bottles. Coxy was rescued and thankfully survived his ordeal, thanks to help from the local CREM aquarium.

Carl Cox was approached to help raise the profile of the issue of people throwing garbage into the ocean.

“This is meant to be a call to our world of Dance Music to not throw any garbage into the sea and to protect the environment in general.”

Think about Coxy – remember to recycle your plastic.
