As the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour 2010 came to a climax at London’s Brixton Academy last night (20th February), The Maccabees brought on a special guest for the first song of their two-song encore in the form of Orange Juice singer Edwyn Collins to perform a fantastic version of their 1983 single ‘Rip it Up’. Collins was on fine form despite him still recovering from a brain tumour and The Maccabees were honoured to share the stage with him.
During The Maccabees’ final song of the night ‘Love You Better’, all the bands involved with the tour all invaded the stage to celebrate what had been a fantastic evening.
