We’ve covered some strange bands on MV over the years but DO’C are easily one of the most warped yet. There must be something in the drinking water Down Under… or maybe it’s from all that standing on their heads? Whatever the reason, Death O’Connor’s music is as fun as it is fucked-up and, as a bonus, some of it is actually listenable too.
We did an exclusive first interview with DO’C in July, and now we’re pleased to bring you more delights from these masked marvels with a complimentary download of their latest EP.
Death O’Connor …Are Better Than You gives you a sample of the Melbourne based band’s sound. While flexing their collective muscles and making obscene gestures they play musical styles ranging from 8-bit synth to metal, stopping off to stick their tongues out at post-punk and new wave en-route. Listen to two choice tracks below, including their anthem “D.O.C.” which is a bit like Turbonegro slapping Generation X with a dirty trout.
