Indie Week music festival returns again this October to Toronto. The deadline for artists wishing to apply for Indie Week 2010 has been extended by a fortnight from the original date of 2 July. Applications will now be accepted up until Friday 16 July. Indie Week 2010 banner

Having cemented it’s place as Toronto’s third most-relevant showcase festival (alongside the established big two of Canadian Music Week in the spring, and NXNE in the summer), Indie Week returns this year with a more international flavour. Indie Week already has strong connections with Ireland, with a version of the festival taking place annually in the Republic – the Irish showcase element of Indie Week will be back again in Toronto this year, but there will also be an Australian music showcase, plus Hamilton and ‘East Coast Kitchen’ showcases.

Indie Week 2010 will take place in Toronto from 13-17 October. The venues include Bovine Sex Club, Bread & Circus, Cherry Cola’s, The Drake Hotel, El Mocambo, Hard Luck Club, Hideout, Rivoli and Velvet Underground.

Bands wishing to apply for Indie Week should do so via Sonicbids or by submitting a mail-in application. Check out the Indie Week website for more details.
