Jay Reatard documentary ‘Better Than Something’ set for theatre screenings across America

After a solid run through the festival circuit in 2011, the Jay Reatard documentary Better Than Something has announced its first official string of screenings throughout the U.S..

It premiers Friday, March 2 in Brooklyn and then moves into Memphis, Seattle, and Portland, Oregon.

Better Than Something mixes candid interviews with Jay Reatard and close friends, together with concert footage, to create a stirring biopic of the Mephis, MN born musician. Beautifully shot, this raw film captures Jay as a prolific, and disarmingly honest, DIY punk icon. Better Than Something was filmed just months before Jay passed away in 2009.

Better Than Something was Music Vice editor Brian Banks’ highlight of last year’s NXNE music festival in Toronto.
