NXNE 2011 in Toronto is coming to an end but not without a bang. Come nurse your post-festival hangover in the sun by watching the 5th annual NXNE ‘Put The Boot In’ charity football match.

The game is a charity fundraiser for Right To Play, raising money to help kids enjoy the most basic of human rights – the right to play sport!

The Rockers, captained by Brendan Canning (Broken Social Scene) is a team of musicians and record label people, who take on the might Rollers, captained by Olympian Adam van Koeverden, and featuring a rag-tag mob of media including myself.

Kick-off is 1.30pm today at Lamport Stadium (just east of King/Dufferin). Entry is pay-what-you-can, all proceeds to Right To Play. There is also a raffle with some great prizes including a signed Michael Essien jersey.

More details on the Facebook event page. For more info about the cause or to make a donation to right to play click here.

See you at the game – I’ll be the tall dude with no ball control. πŸ˜‰ Go Rollers!!
