Slipknot bassist Paul Gray has died aged 38. He was found dead in a Des Moines, Iowa hotel today, Monday 24 May.
Gray had been working on an album with Hail!, a metal supergroup which he had been drafted into as a replacement for Megadeth’s David Ellefson. Hail! have a forthcoming tour that is scheduled to start at the end of this week on 30 May at Rock in Rio in Lisbon, Portugal. There is no word yet on any cancellations or changes to Hail’s touring plans.
Gray, who was one of the original members of Slipknot. He is survived by his wife Brenna who is pregnant with their first child.

The members of Slipknot held a press conference in Des Moines where they fought back the tears as they talked about the loss of their bandmate and brother.
“My life changed the moment I met Paul,” said DJ Sid Wilson.
“I’d just like to say that I miss my brother so much it’s very hard for me right now,” said drummer Joey Jordison.
