Manchester four piece The Answering  Machine are back, back with their second album Lifeline which is due out in early 2011 and a new 5 date UK tour.

Born into a haze of buzz and bluster in 2008, the band dived underground to write and develop more than a handful of songs that recieved such fanfare before they’d even bought their own amplifiers. The critical acclain of their debut album Another City, Another Sorry in 2009 was widespread with an album that was filled with heavy melodied and fizzing indie pop songs.

The band then jetted off to LA where every party with a puls had booked them as their house band. Social networking sites were awash with Americans raving about Britains latest guitar exports. After weeks of sweat and excitement, the band returned to the UK to work on album 2.

First single ‘Animals’ is just a taster of  ‘Lifeline’, its older and more mature but it does this without losing their desire for an hook or melody. The band describe Another City, Another Sorry as a fine recap of their teenage years condensed into a pop record while Lifeline is a sound of a band maturing quickly

The Answering Machine UK Tour dates are

26th – The Deaf Institute, Manchester

27th – The Hoxton Bar and Grill, London
