Achtung! Radio Wunderbar is here!
A fortnight ago I started a new radio show on Indie Love radio in Toronto. The show is called Radio Wunderbar and it airs every Sunday live at 5pm local time (EST).
For the second episode of Radio Wunderbar I was joined by The Box Tiger for a live-to-air acoustic session and chat. The Box Tiger are one of my favourite new bands in Toronto; it was a great honour to have Sonia and Glenn from the band as my first guests on the show. Episode 2 of Radio Wunderbar is available to download below as a podcast. he podcast begins midway into The Box Tiger’s first song on the show, “Comes And Goes”. I hope you enjoy the show.

More info about episode 2…
The opening 10 minutes of the show are missing from this podcast due to an error on my part in archiving the stream – these 10 minutes included introductions, the opening theme “Radio Wunderbar” by The Carpettes and “Take Off That Halo” by The Disciplines, taken from their forthcoming sophomore album Virgins Of Menace (out 15 February on Spark & Shine Records).
Also on episode 2 of Radio Wunderbar, Natascha Malta came on for a new guest segment called ‘Parlez vous Francais?’, playing four new indie tracks by Quebec artists. Natascha also did the great illustration of The Box Tiger, as seen at the top of this page.
A playlist featuring indie artists from Canada and beyond included new music by Carmen Townsend (Canada), Divine Is Nothing (Canada), Wavves (US), Downers Of The World Unite (US) and Urgent Blood (Australia).
Many thanks to The Box Tiger for coming in and giving a fantastic acoustic performance. Thanks also to Alan the station owner at Indie Love for standing in as my sound guy and making sure everything went smoothly.
Cheers! – Brian, Radio Wunderbar
Catch the next installment of Radio Wunderbar on Indie Love radio this Sunday 6 February at 5pm and later available via Music Vice as a podcast.
