Indie rockers Florence and the Machine, along with notorious rapper Nas are set to headline this year’s Bestival music festival on the weekend of June 12-13. Elsewhere, the alluring Banks has the voice and beauty to pull in a big crowd on Saturday night.

Promoting the recent release of their well received third album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, and following a remarkable performance at Coachella, needless to say we’re all in for a major treat from Florence Welch.

Other performances we anticipate from other heavy contenders such as Chicago DJ duo Flosstradamus, Canada’s very own Caribou and Canadian indie composer and rocker Owen Pallett, the lineup is divided up evenly between the days– ensuring all attendees a chance to catch all their favourite performers, along with various genres of music for everyone to enjoy.

Music lovers can head over to the Toronto Island to indulge in not only the music but also numerous amounts of far out activities for Bestivalities to immerse themselves in coming to us from across the pond such as Day of the Dead body painting, the Bestival Big Love Inflatable Church (which plays host to several wedding ceremonies) and various dance troupes dancing around the Bestival grounds spreading glitter, love and magic!

Like most festivals, this one is no different when it comes to attire. Bestival curator Rob da Bank encourages festival goers to pick out their finest threads and dress up in some sort of costume, however if you do forget to do so or can’t find the perfect vintage Ninja Turtles costume, there will be a Dress Up Tent on the festival grounds, hosted by Toronto’s favourite vintage store 69 Vintage, to ensure you are able to pick up the finest threads for the jam packed weekend of music and fun!
