Jerry Douglas - Jerry Christmas

Title:

Jerry Christmas

Artist:

Jerry Douglas

Label:

Koch Records

Released:

October 2009

In one word:

Ho-Ho-Horrific!

Oh god, here we are again – it’s midway through November and the crap Christmas albums are out already. This pile of crap is easy listening country garbage with guitar playing all the vocal parts.

The title of the record was the only appealing aspect of this record, Jerry Christmas - it sounds like a Seinfeld season comedy album but alas no humour here.

The production is ugly and cheap and sounds as though the guy’s playing along with one of those crap Casio backing tracks that you might've used in your high school music exams.

Santa Claus is Coming To Town sounds like Shrek doing Tom Waits but in a really bad way... but I suppose some variation is good, isn’t it? Nah, not in this instance.

If you have too much money and are into wasting it on complete garbage you’d still probably have the sense to steer clear of this heartless boring cash-in.

I hear Rob Halford has a Christmas album coming out, maybe that will be less shit.
