Moneen - The World I Want to Leave Behind

Title:

The World I Want to Leave Behind

Artist:

Moneen

Label:

Dine Alone

Released:

September 2009

In one word:

Emo

It all starts out very promising with the weird-esque guitar effects and Kubrick like whirring noises but when it all bursts into the first track "The World I Want to Leave Behind" there’s only one word for this – emo.

I suppose I should’ve guessed with a title like that but whoever tagged them as 'Alternative-Punk' fooled me for a minute. Maybe they’re fooling themselves but you can’t pigeonhole these guys far from extremely poppy-emo that sounds like a horrific Jimmy Eat World or Panic At The Disco.

It’s big emo music and young emo girls will devour it.
