Album Review: NME The Album 2009
Wow, it’s nearly 2010 and all the Christmas time blah-blah-blah and cash-ins are coming! Firstly you have the godawful Jerry Douglas release Jerry_Christmas (not Seinfeld’s holiday record) and now NME The Album 2009. You know with us guys how we’re not really into the flavour of the month garbage and there’s a bit of that on this, so you might not like it all but that's generally to be expected from any compilation album. I'll tell you it does however feature some stellar and memorable 2009 tracks from Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Green Day and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Alongside the big names, this double-disc compo also brings some hit songs from some of our favourite new bands including The Rifles, The Big Pink and The Gallows. If you’re unsure what to buy yer hip brother for Christmas I’d whole heartedly suggest this as for a UK retail price of under a tenner your getting 40 songs, which is way cheaper than iTunes; though if you really like them I suggest you should buy them what they really want – a porn subscription. © Danny Crombie
