EP Review: Black Asylum - Anthem of Order
If you're into hard technical metal like Dillinger Escape Plan with a bit of Trivium in it this is for you. It's loud and angry and unforgiving with thunderous double bass, quick and confusing time/rhythm changes and extremely intense throat action. While it's exactly ground breaking like Mastodon et al it's still hard as nails and that's what you metal kids want in your music am I right? This will be a great companion to you kids walking through school with yer iPod in yer ears hating the world whilst wearing a Mayhem t-shirt under yer school garb, sculpting yer puny arms at the gym or preparing TOTAL METAL ANNIHALATION in yer bedroom whilst yer mum shouts at you to turn that crap down and put some Pat Boone on! If you want your ears to bleed, your folks to hate you and to be angrier at the world I would suggest a good dose of Black Flag but Black Asylum will do fine if you don't like shit production and think looking at Henry's body too much may turn you gay. © Danny Crombie
