Current Swell at the Rivoli - Canadian Music Week 2014

Who: Current Swell
When: Tuesday, 5 May 2014
Where: Rivoli, Queen St. Toronto
In One Word: Multi-talented

Native to Victoria, B.C. Current Swell have made their rounds and paid their dues with extraordinary results. A four-piece indie/roots group, Current Swell knows how to put on one hell of a show. The Rivoli hit capacity an hour before the set was slated to start, and energy buzzing in the crowd was tangible. With a massive fan-base filling the back room, Current Swell ensured a wild ride. Between lovely sway-worthy moments to hard-hitting rock tunes, there wasn’t a dull moment in the entire set. There was a constant rotation of instruments for the multi-talented Current Swell, from acoustic to slide guitar, synth, harmonica – they kept their set fresh and interesting while flawlessly transitioning from instrument to instrument. The two encore songs demonstrated the versatility in the band, going from soft and melodic to an absolute blow-the-roof-off anthem. Constantly thanking their fans, it was a show dedicated to them and their fans could feel it.

Current Swell will be back to Toronto to perform in August, though exact dates are not yet known.
