Who: GrimSkunk
Where: Sneaky Dee’s, Toronto
When: Thursday, 8 May 2014
In One Word: Psyched

Having travelled from Montreal, GrimSkunk came a long way to rock out at Sneaky Dee’s for Toronto’s Canadian Music Week. Having a slight change in schedule, GrimSkunk quickly set up to start their set earlier than expected. Regardless of the rush, they put on a successful show. The floor filled up fast, and the crowd was entranced by their prominent fusion of psychedelic and punk rock. Their combination of psychedelia and punk kept the crowd engaged and in suspense, as it created a rollercoaster of both mellow-sounding tunes and straight up head-bangers. The keyboard added a unique twist to their sound, and the energy and passion portrayed by the band members was unmistakable. The crowd’s response alone was a clear indicator of the success of GrimSkunk’s performance. Fans also travelled from Montreal, including die-hard fans that refuse to miss a performance. Playing a variety of tracks, including songs off of their most recent album Set Fire!, GrimSkunk’s live performance was incomparable to any recorded track, and successfully portrayed their immense talent as musicians.
