Who: Groenland
Where: Adelaide Hall, Toronto
When: Saturday, 10 May 2014
In One Word: Unique

For the final night of the CMW round-up, Montreal’s orchestral indie darlings Groenland graced the stage at Adelaide Hall. With a wonderfully eclectic sound, Groenland got those in the already packed bar moving and dancing along to their upbeat songs. After playing songs off their last release, The Chase, including “Our Last Shot” and “Immune” (some of my personal favourites off the record), they mixed it up and played a brand new one for the CMW crowd. Groenland uses a blend of instruments, ranging from keyboards and ukulele to the violin and cello, making their sound unique and dynamic. Despite what felt like an incredibly short set, Groenland proved they’re a band to keep an eye on – they’re just waiting for you to discover them.
