What: Wayhome 2016
Where: Burl’s Creek Event Grounds, Oro-Medonte, Ontario
When: 22 July 2016
In one word: Allegorical

It was hotter than hell at the Burls Creek Event Ground’s in Oro-Medonte however, festival goer’s found their Wayhome to heaven through the prodigious talent that occurred last night.

Shad started his set off with some mic issues, but once it was solved he showed the crowd what “WayBold” truly means. With his amazing variety in tempo, strong passion and energy despite the heat, his performance was deeply appreciated by the audience. Although not the best guitar player, it was a pleasure to see it be incorporated into the style; and hey, he’s better than Lil Wayne!

LCD Soundsystem took us back home as they reunited on the main stage. They kicked off the set with “Us vs. Them”, followed by a stellar light show and many of their hit songs for two hours.

Following this allegorical set was Mac DeMarco. His set left many in awe as he performed a variety of hit songs, love songs, along with John continuously cracking jokes. The band played a new song off of their new record (tba) by the name of “Tido’s Playhouse”, which was extremely unexpected in so many ways. The remarkable track is at a much faster pace in comparison to his history, as it includes heavy guitar and drums, and is overall quite “loud”. A guest appearance was made by Matty from Badbadnotgood, who stage-dived into a welcoming crowd that carried him around the Waybold tent.

Earlier on the same stage, Foals outdid themselves with a set that ended with Yannis Philippakis walking into the crowd.
