I’ve been to a few unusual concerts before but X Japan at Massey Hall was the strangest I’ve ever experienced. It was a sight to behold as 2000 fans, largely of Japanese descent, outpoured with unconstrained joy at the sight of seeing X Japan playing their penultimate show of a 7-stop first tour of North America. The band are the biggest and most successful Japanese group ever and have been around for almost 30 years. Their fans made sure they were given a warm welcome inside the historic surrounds of Massey Hall.
